Can’t visit a Carnival? Make Your Own Corn Dogs!

Corn Dogs

Makes 10 -12 corn dogs

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup corn meal

1 1/2 cup flour

1 tbsp. salt

½ tsp. fresh cracked black pepper

4 tbsp. sugar

2 eggs

½ cup milk

1/2 tsp. fresh ground black pepper

½ cup water

2 tbsp. baking powder

10-12 hot dogs

10 -12 - 8” bamboo skewers

Preparation

Place dry ingredients in mixing bowl, place liquid ingredients in mixing bowl. Mix dry ingredients together, mix wet ingredients together. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients. Mix for 1 minute. PlaceStick bamboo skewers into the center of the hot dog and insert until ¾ deep into the hot dog.

Dip and roll each as hot dog into the corn dog batter until completely covered in batter. Deep fry at 350 F for 4-6 minutes. (until hot dog is 140 F) Place cooked corn dogs on tray with kitchen towel to drain. Repeat until all corn dogs are cooked. Serve with strawberry jam or mustard.
