Fresh Ground Beef Burgers

Makes 6- 8 oz. burgers

Ingredients

3 lbs. brisket point or boneless chuck roast.

Preparation

Use an electric Meat Grinder; grind the meat using the coarse plate hole (¼ inch). Grind meat and then form 8 oz. patties using your hands. Make a ball first and then shape to 4” circle shaped like a puck. Cover and refrigerate until needed.

Cooking the burger on BBQ

Put a cast iron pan on high heat for 3 minutes. Add 2 tbsp. oil. Brown burger 1 minute on each side. Then cook on BBQ 3-4 minutes on each side until internal temperature of 160 F.

Cooking in cast iron pan

Put a cast iron pan on high heat for 3 minutes. Add 2 tbsp. oil. Brown burger 1 minute on each side. Reduce to medium heat and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side. Cook to internal temperature of 160 F.

Cooking in oven

Set oven to 400 F. Place a lightly oiled baking tray in oven. Heat a cast iron skillet set to high heat for 3 minutes.  Add 2 tbsp. oil. Brown burgers 1 minute on each side. Place burgers on oiled tray in oven. Cook for 5-6 minutes. Cook to internal temperature of 160 F.
