Missing Your Carnival Favourites! Make your Own Funnels Cakes!

Funnel Cakes    

Makes 3-4 (6-7” funnel Cakes)

Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

¼ cup sugar

1 tbsp. baking powder

1 egg

1 cup milk

½ tsp. pure vanilla extract

4 cups oil for frying

Cinnamon SugarTopping

½ cup white sugar, 2 tbsp. cinnamon,1 tbsp. cornstarch Mix well together

4 scoops Vanilla ice cream

4 tbsp. whipping cream

4 maraschino cherries

Preparation

Place dry ingredients in mixing bowl, place liquid ingredients in mixing bowl. Mix dry ingredients together, mix wet ingredients together. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients. Mix for 1 minute. Put batter into a sealable bag using a spatula. Put oil into a sauté pan and heat on medium heat until it reaches 350F. Place a 6-7” spring form pan without the bottom into the sauté pan with oil. Cut ¼” off the bottom of the sealable bag with funnel cake batter. Using a sealable bag like a piping bag pipe into the oil going back and forth in oil within the spring form. Make a spider web design. Cook for 2 minutes on one side. Using a pair of tongs remove the spring form and then flip the funnel cake. Cook for 1 minute and remove. Place on tray with kitchen towel to drain.Add cinnamon topping, top with scoop of ice cream, whipping cream and cherry.
